The theme of 2009 was empowering the mind, body, and soul. This was definitely a year to remember!

Chenese started off the year by being the keynote speaker at the University of California- Davis for Celebrate Your Body Week! Celebrate Your Body Week gives students the opportunity to examine the different body ideals of society through various discussions and workshops, and provides healthy real ways of celebrating our bodies.

The start of the year continued on a high note as Chenese was listed as a plus size pioneer on the extremely popular blog, The Curvy Fashionista!

Chenese hosted the first Curvy All Star Weekend, in conjunction with Curvesity Entertainment in New York City to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society . Not only was the curvy weekend a success, it also raised $5,000 for MS!

PLUS Model Radio celebrated it’s one year anniversary and became the #1 podcast for plus size women! Celebrity guests such as Emme, Mia Tyler, and Jess Weiner were a few of the esteemed guests that appeared on the show in 2009. The show also stood up against size discrimination with the intense interview: PETA Versus The Plus Size Community where Chenese went one-on-one with PETA senior campaigner Ashley Byrne about the animal-rights organization’s offensive "Save the Whale" campaign!

Chenese was also named editor for 18PLUS, which will be a new addition to PLUS Model Magazine starting in 2010, the new monthly section will further diverse each issue of the magazine to consistently show a wider range of plus size beauty.

Miss Lewis also ripped the runway for the second year in a row in a celebrity fashion show for charity, Celebrity Catwalk , which raises funds and awareness for the National Animal Rescue. Celebrities of all sizes modeled for the event. Chenese modeled along side curvy celebrities such as Loretta Divine, Kim Coles, Countess Vaughn, Toccara, and KayCee Stroth for Lane Bryant. Chenese was also featured on Lane Bryant’s Inside Curve website.

Chenese also modeled in a print campaign for Jackie Christie, wife of NBA star Doug Christie, Colored Girl clothing line. Colored Girl was born from a desire to unite women from all cultures because women of all nationalities have color to their skin, no matter what that shade is, a colored girl can be someone viewed as beautiful.

This year also marked the fourth annual Hollywood NOW Love Your Body Day which was an overwhelming success, co sponsored by the City of West Hollywood. The once one day event turned into a weekend long celebration, with the introduction of the Love Your Body Day Comedy Show and star studded Body Image Panel Discussion. Moderated by , Chenese, panelist include: Miss America 2008 Kristen Haglund, Global Ambassador for the Dove Self-Esteem Fund Jess Weiner, supermodel Tomiko Frasier, New York Times best selling author Nancy Redd, plus size actress Lindsay Hollister, and 2009 Love Your Body Day host Lisa Ann Walter.

Chenese Lewis Productions LLC signed on as an official sponsor for the 2010 run of “Fat Bitch” a one woman show by “Precious” Co Star Erica Watson. The show is scheduled to appear in New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Charlotte, Washington DC, and Chicago in 2010.

Miss Lewis ended the year with a bang as she won her bid for president of Hollywood NOW (National Organization for Women)
